Our History
Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1935 to serve the employees of the York Ice and Machinery Company. Throughout the years, due to changes that enabled us to expand our field of membership, we began to offer our services to well over 200 companies, their employees and immediate family members. We are very excited about our most recent change. We can now offer our low cost deposit and loan products to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in York County!
Employees of our member companies are still eligible to remain members and we welcome the opportunity to continue serving their financial needs.
We stand by our Mission Statement:
Heritage Valley Federal Credit Union is a member-owned progressive financial cooperative committed to the basic credit union philosophy: Not for profit, not for charity, but for service. We shall continue to provide a full range of financial services while maintaining a constant openness to our members changing financial needs. We seek to become the primary financial institution for our membership while promoting financial stability and growth.
Heritage Valley has three locations. Our Kings Mill Road office is located on the edge of West York Borough, and is directly behind our original company, the former York International Corporation. The Pleasant Valley Road office is our Main Office and is located on the east end of York, on what is often referred to as "Memory Lane Extended," just beyond Whiteford Road. Our Cape Horn Road Office is located in York Township next to the Rutter's Farmstore.
